“Upcoming Portal Animated Film Has An Awesome Pixar Look”
Though still a work in progress, the still frame (which comes from Alex Zemke) looks quite promising.
Zemke, who is working on the animated short titled Companionship, is a professional animator who has worked on various Sony properties such as Uncharted 2 and 3, as well as the The Smurfs Movie.
Companionship, which is a “tale of love, loss and cubes”, sounds like a project that Zemke is quite passionate about. Though there is no telling when the completion date will be, you can check out Zemke’s Deviant Art page for more stills from the project.

If by “Pixar look” you mean it’s computer generated, then I suppose so.
Because the somewhat flat lighting, lack of texture, wonky “cartoony” anatomy, and basically everything about Chell’s face are all very un-Pixar. This looks a lot more like the Clone Wars cartoon.
Don’t get me wrong, this is probably going to be beautifully animated, I have nothing against Zemke making awesome things in his basement. And who’s to say it won’t end up with better lighting and textures.
But really GameInformer?

I am disappointed.
